Benelli m3 cycling problem

He needs to make sure he's shooting good ammo, I think Wolf brand stuff is OK, but have him try something better - like Winchester AA ammo. Also, stay away from light loads, Benelli recommends 2 3/4dr 1oz load for the Super 90 series.
If this doesn't fix it, make sure he has the gun solidly up to his shoulder, these are recoil operated and if they don't have a solid surface, they won't cycle correctly. If I hold mine (Super Black Eagle, or previously, a pre-ban M3) freehand (not against my shoulder), then I had to shoot 3" shells to make it cycle correctly. What both my Benelli's would do in that situation is to clear the chamber but not bring one from the magazine (showing the bolt didn't come back far enough), unless there was already one in the mag follower.
If you try both these (heavier ammo and firm shoulder hold), then send it in, there's something wrong.
I have long since got rid of my M3, but my Super Black Eagle hasn't EVER missed a cycle since I went to AA ammo, and I use it to hunt almost all bird seasons and shoot clay's all summer...
    Good luck!

It doesn't matter what you shoot, just shoot it well...
