WIN. model 52 value, opinions

1. winchester model 52 .22 bolt action target rifle
2. 28 " heavy bull BBL with squared off muzzle
3. serial number 98273C
4. trigger adjusts for O.T.(overall travel) and PULL(lbs) via to set screws forward of the trigger. extra wide ribbed trigger.
5. single shot adapter in mag. well
6. rear sights: redfield international match
7. front sights: redfield olympic match
8. unertal target scope blocks
9. original steel buttplate
10. original factory wood stock(unaltered)


this piece is in NRA excellent condition. the stock shows use, and has a few scratches and some handling wear. the BBL, reciever, action, and all other metal parts are perfect. this gun was a DCM issue piece to the local gun clubs junior olympic/dcm shooting program.

which model is it??? when was it made??? what is it worth???best regards, mike.(ps: i own 2 52`s, and i am interested in learning about this specific piece)

  Looks like you have a "52C" model, I need to do some checking on the date of manufacture, possibly late 50's to early 60's. Best research book on these is "The Winchester Model 52, Perfection in Design" by Herbert G. Houze.

  Model 52-C Bull Target....your's was made in 1958.

  Mike, The model 52 was available with the heavy barrel and the bull barrel. You either have one or the other. The bull barrel is heavier and much scarcer. I would bet that the one you describe has the heavy barrel. The bull barrel model would bring a higher price to a collector.

  great gun the best in target 22's. still very competitive with todays guns
