Ithaca 20 ga Mod 37 Shotgun
We are having trouble with this older but gently-handled shotgun. When the forend handle is slid back to eject a fired shell, the magazine dumps the two unfired shells out the bottom. Annoyingly, this doesn't happen all the time so we are having difficulty understanding the malfunction. Any pointers? Thanks.

You need your magazine cutoff, checked for looseness, or timing. The is a small screw, that holds the cutoff in, look up from under neath, to see if the screw is tight. Be carefull, the screw is very small. If your cutoff is still not right, and the screw is tight, take your shot gun to a gun smith, and have him check the timing. As the end wears, sometimes this throws it out of timing. Don't pry on the cutoff, as you will break the tiny screw.

Ked-Mar, Thanks a lot. Will look at that in the morning. I'll let you know how it turns out. Best, Jim
