This grip came off of an S-42?
Does anybody know what this is, means ?

  I have some 22 cal luger parts . at first I thought that they were the erma luger parts but they are no . The onlt markins I see is a fancy m over a w engraved in the togel . Can any one tell me the manufactor and wher to find a price break down thanks in advance

  The stamping on the front of the grip indicate the organization and unit to which it belonged; the three digit number probably refers to the number weapon. For example, 1st Bavarian Light Infantry, pistol # 342. If you gave us the precise inscription perhaps we might be able to help more. The top of the pistol being devoid of markings might indicate a rework following W.W.I, and it may very well have been issued to a police unit domestically in Germany.

  There is a Luger forum website where questions like yours will get attention of knowledgeable people. Someone will post the website URL which I don't recall at the moment. From my experience, you will be lucky if you get a reply from email queries to individuals.

  With the exception of a few rarities, a Luger with 50-60% finish is not collectible. If the bore is good, I would think $200-250 would be a fair price for a "shooter".

  Just for the record, Ralph Shattuck responded to my e-mail in about two hours. I really appreciated that. I need to get my hands on the gun and write down the numbers, if the shop will let me. nmyers, I agree that a shooter shouldn't command a high price, but I can't find anyone willing to let go of a Luger cheap. I think they see these auctions and see all those $1,200-2,000 guns and figure, "Mine's worth at least half that!"
