i have a complete lower half 45 auto u.s. property....the info]<>left. side] has "FJA" under the slide release,Has a 'P' next to the magizine release botton. . rite side] has what looks look a SA proof mark inbetween the hammer & sear pins, has united states property an ser.# in the corret place [No921XXX] then has foward of the slide release hole,says, M-1911-A1 U.S.ARMY < its rolled in very heavy ...has a short trigger, thin hammer ,arched main housing w/a landard ring serial # checks out as a Colt early to mid-1943, but didn't think Atwood ever inspected colts? "what do i have this time"
this is third oddity i;ve come with , does it ever end , , , ,

If memory serves (Book not handy) Ithica and Colt had some overlaps. Check and see if you have the WWI heart shaped cutouts under the grips. If so, reclaimed BCM receivers given to Ithica 0 -
Not really an oddity. Both Colt & Remington have serial #s in this range, but all Remingtons were inspected by Frank J. Atwood. The "SA" stamp indicates that it was rebuilt by Springfield Armory, and is not a "proof mark". Most likely it has been reparked.
If it were mine, I'd try to find a Remington slide that matches the frame on color. Even with some other make slide, it would be a nice shooter.0 -
P3 ....thanks [i didn;t look yet] but it's definitely A-1 frame,... Nmyers ,, you mite be more correct here as it looks too good , must be a repark the SA wheel looks parked over, will have to find a book w/Rems #'s... what i didn't mentions is when i picked it up it had a Colt .22 coversion unit on it [made 47-54] if that has any bearing..whats bothering me is the fact that the M-1911-A1 U.S.ARMY its rolled so very heavy ,it looks to deep..... well back to the books an thanks again...Mr Gee 0 -
