Hello,
I'm looking for info again and wanted to hear from you good folks. I'm sure you may need more info and if so, please ask. I apreciate any and all replies. Looking for age, value, #'s made, all aproximates would be fine.
About the Auguste Francotte:
RH BBL Von Lengerke & Detmold
LH BBL U S Agents New York
Bottom BBL Choke 17.0 / 18.4 EL K with * over it
Barrel flats: LH 2 3/4 P1K640 with Francotte Chokebore over it
Also has many proof marks and an H on barrel flats and reveiver flats.
Frame sides Both have Auguste Fracotte Maker and Patentee Liege, Belgium
34" bbl octagon over long beavertail forearm to round. Full choke with semi-wide vent rib and 2 Ivory beads. about 98%
Frame is case colored with about 50% showing. Not much engraving except boarder and main pin through receiver. Just some scroll around it. Matte finish in block on top of receiver in front of top lever.
Nice wood but not extra fancy. Pistol grip has 1/2" inlay about 4" long from pg towards the butt of dark wood. Maybe Mahogany? Forearm is long beavertail with nice checkering in about 3/4 coverage and release latch.
I have pics if that would be of more help.
Thank you,
Scott

A little tough to value this one.....
FRANCOTTE, AUGUSTIE & CIE. S.A.
Current manufacturer located in Leige, Belgium since 1805. No current U.S. importation. Previously imported until 1999 by Armes De Chasse located in Hertford, NC, VL&O between 1900-1930s, and Abercrombie & Fitch until approx. 1962.
They made revolvers, rifles (bolt-action, single shot and SxS), and shotguns. From the "Agents", this would fall in the 1900-1930 era.
All of the shotguns listed are SxS. You say yours is a single barrel, but then mention a RH and LH Barrel...which is it?
Does it have any engraving or scenes?
These are not cheap shotguns.....depending on model (in 98% condition), could be worth $1850 and UP! And UP some more!0
