Interarms rifle that doesn't exist????

I have an Interarms Mark X chambered in a 300 weatherby mag. When I try to look it up at various places (Shooter's Bible, Gun Blue Book, web search) it as if this gun was never made. They list the Mark X in a 300 winchester mag, but not a weatherby. Anyone have information???

  Might be a rechamber. A few years back I saw an Interarms 300wby with a pencil barrel. Didn't bite on it as it looked like a real kicker.

  yep,
  I thought all they imported were walthers until S&W took it over a couple years ago. I didn't know they did other stuff too, interesting.

  I seem to remember Interarms was an importer for a number of different brands....Rossi, Mauser made Lugers, etc....

  Interarms imported and sold both short and long actions only until several years ago under the Mk X name. These are Mauser-type actions, smooth as silk--- I have a custom rifle with the long action and Shilen Match barrel chambered in 25-06, a real tack driver. I'll bet this is what you have.

  They also imported a LOT of Howa's and some with their name on them.

  I've got Interarms catalogs and dealer price lists that go back for decades so it was easy enough to pull out their 1993 price list and check their full line of Mark X rifles. There were never any complete rifles available in .300 Weatherby. Interarms lists 22 different rilfe/caliber combinations but there are no Weatherby caliber listed and There are no barreled actions available in that caliber or any other Weatherby caliber either.
  
  What I believe that you have is a Mark X Mauser System Action. This would be Interarms stock number ZAA30002 Type "C" action for 7mm Rem Mag up to .300H&H. This came with the magnum bolt face and was adaptable to many magnum calibers in that class. Dealer cost was $218 and they retailed at $290. I am going to guess that someone simply bought the action and built your rifle around it. You could buy nearly any Mark X part from Interams including the stocks, barrels, and anything else that you wanted, so perhaps someone simply purchased the action, all of the parts, and built himself a nice Mark X in a caliber Interarms never offered. This is ony my OPINION and a possible explaination of how this rifle came into being...since it is in your hands it is pretty clear that it does exist!

  Thanks for the info. I'll pull it out tonight and check the serial #'s and see. It clearly states it's a Mark X, and I'll see if I can tell if the action was changed out, and see what the serial nuber references me to.
