A laser sight is not a good choice for hunting; the dot is difficult to find except for a very short period at sunrise & sunset. You might want to consider a good telescopic sight.

I THINK A LASER-TYPE SIGHT {THE KIND THAT PUTS THE BEAM OF LIGHT DIRECTLY ONTO THE TARGET} WOULD WORK FINE FOR SHOOTING A COON OUT OF THE TREE-TOPS, UNLESS IT'S A SEQUOIA TREE! AS FAR AS TO WHAT BRAND TO USE, I'M SORRY I DON'T HAVE ANY INFO. BUT I THINK IT'S A GOOD IDEA AND PROBABLY EASIER THAN HAVING SOMEONE STAND BEHIND YOU SHINING A FLASHLIGHT AND TRYING TO SEE YOUR SIGHTS IN WHAT LIGHT YOUR HEAD DOES'NT BLOCK! GOOD LUCK!

I wont comment on lasers for hunting, becuase ive nevre tried it. But as to which lasers to use, id look at the Laserlyte and Beamshot models. They are inexpensive and work fairly well, and mount to the barrels of .22's.
If you were really serious about it i have seen guys attach mounts on the fronts of the forearms of rifles and mount Streamlight M6 Laser/Flashlight combo. This would allow you to illuminate your target, while still being able to sight with a laser. This would cost a good deal more than the others. Good luck!

You better check the legalities of hunting with a laser aiming device. I know it is illegal here in WV. You may be better off using a red dot scope.

Where they're legal I think the laser would be good for coon hunting. I have a BSA on my visually handicapped son's 10/22 and it works fine on swinger targets except in bright sunlight.

A laser sight is great for coons no matter what anyone else says. you do not have to worry aobut the scope being out of focus or anything else just point and shoot and the coon falls. This is at night only though in sun it fades out too quick.

Me no know, me no care, me push little red button and run like hell.
