I LOOKED AT ONE LAST WEEK THAT WAS .50CAL CAMO FINISH AND AT THE MUZZLE,SOME OF THE CAMO FINISH DID NOT COVER ALL OF THE CROWN. THE STEEL I SAW UNDERNEATH LOOKED BLACK OR"BLUED" TO ME. I DID NOT ASK IF IT WAS STAINLESS OR NOT, I JUST HAPPENED TO NOTICE THE LITTLE FLAW! IF IT IS "SS" MAYBE IT IS COATED WITH SOMETHING BEFORE THE CAMO IS APPLIED? GOOD LUCK!

Thanks ... I think I'm going to keep looking for one with a stainless steel barrel.

Would most of the muzzleloader crowd agree that this (SS barrel) is the way to go since the powder tends to be more corrosive?

I hear that the T/C Omega 50 is quite easy to clean and maintain ... maybe stainless steel is therefore not all that important. Am I just trying to talk myself into changing my mind?[:(]

I WOULD GO FOR THE SS AS WELL, I THINK IT WILL HELP IN RE-SALE ALSO. THOSE "OMEGAS" SURE ARE NICE!

I called Fox Ridge Outfitters at 1-800-243-4570, and they could not help me at all. They say I need to contact Thompson Center directly. And they are not answering E-mail or internet questions at this time.

I don't know if I just caught this lady on a bad hair day or what. But she was not very nice about it. She just said that they knew nothing about that gun. The serial number would not help. "It comes from T/C and you have to contact them." End of discussion - actually, no discussion.
