    for my 15x unertle target scope we mounted them 7" apart if i remember correctly. this gives 1/4" change in point of impact for every click of adjustment. i think the manual for the scope tells you how far apart to set the mounts in order to get the desired amount of change in point of impact. most any experienced gunsmith should be able to set it up for you.

    The scope mounting blocks on the 1922M1 and M2 NRA Sales rifles were 7.2" apart, center to center. These were made in the 1920's and 1930's. A Lyman chart dated 1952 suggest 7.2" distance as ideal with distances of 6" center to center being given for some rifles.

    The 1922M1 and M2 rifles I mentioned above were the .22 cal rifles produced by the U. S. Springfield Armory.
