SADDLE RING 94 ,THANKS!
TODAY I PURCHASED A WINCHESTER MODEL 94 IN .32 W.S. SER#9678XX IT HAS A CURVED STEEL BUTT-PLATE, 191/2" BBL AND A SADDLE RING ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RECIEVER.THE MAGAZINE TUBE IS AS LONG AS THE BBL AND IT HAS A HOODED RAMP FRONT SIGHT. I THINK IT MAY HAVE HAD A REPLACEMENT BBL INSTALLED ON IT BECAUSE OF THE FRONT SIGHT I MENTIONED.I KNOW VERY LITTLE OF THESE RIFLES , AND MY QUESTION IS; CAN ANYBODY TELL ME WHAT THIS MODEL IS WORTH AND APPROX. HOW OLD IT REALLY IS, AND DID IT COME WITH A HOODED RAMP FRONT SIGHT? ANY INFO WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. THANK-YOU

Hey Dirtyrat, Is it a model 1894 or a model 94? There's a big difference in price range. I'll just assume, until you say different, that it is a model 94. The 32Win Spl. was introduced in 1992. BUT, I'm not sure that model came with a saddlering[?]. List for $275-%100, $215-%98, $180-%95. I hope it's a model 1894. If so your talking around $1250 $1300[:p]. 0 -
THANKS BIGCOUNTRY, THE GUN DOES NOT HAVE 1894 ON IT ANYWHERE, SO I'LL HAVE TO ASSUME FOR NOW THAT IT IS A NEWER 94. IT IS STAMPED WINCHESTER 94 ON THE RECIEVER TANG WHERE THE STOCK ATTACHES TO IT. IM HOPING THAT SOMEONE HAS SER# INFO AND CAN GIVE ME DATE MFG. IT SURE DOESNT LOOK LIKE A NEW 94! THANKS AGIAN! 0 -
Dirtyrat, your Winchester was made in 1925. You are right about the barrel being replaced. The original barrel had a post front sight. The value would be only as a shooter. About $200 to $400 depending on condition. 0 -
I agree with hunter's DOM but completely disagree with bigcountry
on the introduction date of the .32 Win Spl. I do not have any books in front of me but the .32 Win Spl was introducted one heck of a long time ago prior to "1992".0 -
The 32 Win. Spl. was introduced in 1902. 0 -
Hunter is correct on the year of introduction of the .32 Win Spl as
Per Maadis. Therefore the barrel "could be original" but the sight is
definitely incorrect. Perhaps the sight was replaced on the original
barrel?0 -
You can check the year of manufacture of the barrel. Remove the forearm stock and the magazine tube. The year will be stamped on the barrels underside. 0 -
THANK YOU ALL FOR THE INFO GIVEN, I PULLED THE MAG TUBE OFF AND THERE IS A BACK TO BACK 3 , AND A TRIANGLE , AND .32 WS STAMPED ON THE UNDERSIDE- NO DATE WAS FOUND. I INSPECTED THE FRONT SIGHT FURTHER AND NOTICED THAT THE RAMP IS PART OF THE BBL ALSO. SO I GUESS FOR $300.00 IVE ENDED UP WITH A FRANKENSTIEN? THE OLD MAN I GOT IT FROM KNEW NOTHING ABOUT IT,AND I KNEW LITTLE MORE. IT WILL NOW GO FROM THE DIPLAY RACK TO THE SHOOTING RACK! THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL THE INFO! 0 -
Please correct me if I'm wrong but if it was made in 1925 it wuold be a model 1894 right? The model 94 standard rifle in .32 Win. spl. didnot come out until 1992!!! I think it's a model 1894 saddel ring carbine because of barrel length.[?] YEA/NEA 0
