Upton Model 40 air rifle

I recently purchased an Upton Model 40 1000 shot lever action bb gun at an estate auction. I can find little info on this piece. Looks like Daisy bought the St.Jospeph,Mi. based company out in 1929 and disassembled the factory and dumped all the tooling and dies, from the Upton Co., into the Detroit River. The air gun is in good working condition and just has some light surface rust. The walnut stock is in very good condition.
The dates stamped into the rifle are in 1912 and 1923. Any help on this would be appreciated.
