Westley Richards Coronation Model
Need some help and advice about a Westley Richards 375 H&H best quality cased rifle. Rifle case and all in excellent condition. Rifle engraved with Gold crown, 1953 date and EIIR along with WR type engraving on many parts of this rifle. WR ledger shows that rifle and its twin was shipped to Mark Appleton of Murta Appleton Co. of Philadelphia in Nov.of 1954. Previous owner an 81 year old who has had rifle in family since 1955. Signed and dated story told of trade for this rifle from Duke of Windsor. Contact was at Abercrombie and Fitch Store in NYC. This rifle was traded for rare pre-war sporting Mauser, fully engraved withserial #0001. "Duke had to have it". Sporting mauser was expatriated from German town after battle of bulge. As both Abercrombie and Fitch and Murta Appleton are no longer in business, do any records still exist? How to locate twin rifle # 42899? Any estimate of value
