Ive used both mouth and electronic callers, and have found that i like the electronic caller the best. I have been very successful with it, even here in Illinois. I reccomend any of the distressed rabbit or fawn calls, they work very well for me. However, ive used all sorts of tapes and really theyve all worked quite well. Good luck and happy hunting!

Same here,,, I have called them in with both mouth callers, and my Johnny Stewart electronic. The electronic is easier as you dont have to move your hands at all, and if gives a more genuine sound.
But on the flip side the mouth call is easier to carry to your set-up spot. I wear mine around my neck on a lanyard.

Cottontail or distressed kitten will work just fine. As will grey fox and cottontail.

Go with the cotton tail duet it will work wanders and also the high pitched cottontail. I have called some hogs in with them. The pig distress tapes work somewhat but hogs are kinda different and it depends on the hog it seems like rather they will come in. I have not had any luck with the feeding hogs sofar but have only used it once so. One more dureing the spring go with a gray fox pup it works for all three(red gray fox and yotes.)

Me no know, me no care, me push little red button and run like hell.

I also used the cassette style... I even used hand-held boomboxes years ago, they worked fine. I love to hunt crows with the crow/owl fight tape. Great way to hone up your shotgunning skills.

It doesn't matter what you shoot, just shoot it well...
