S&W Revolver sight

Thanks for the replies on my other posts. The model 29-2 I have has a rear sight unlike the other S&W's I have dealt with. It is larger and has a large white post with a small white line bordering the notch and across the top of the sight. I have been told by a gunsmith that S&W made them both ways. I am wondering if he was right. It is fully adjustable. Thanks for your help.

  From your description, I believe the original has been replaced with a Millet sight on your 29.

  I really does sound like a Millett sight. I have one that sound s just about like what you are saying. As a matter of fact the rear blade comes in several, I believe three sizes, about 1/4, about 3/8 and I think all the way up to about 1/2 inch in rear face. Hope this helps.
