I was wondering how a defender was for a carry gun,accuracy,reliability,and feel 0 -
Mine has been a flawless performer. Also check the Defender Plus which has full size frame and hence takes 7/8 round mags and standard grip panels. Good Luck, Ed 0 -
One of my favorites.
AN ARMED SOCIETY IS A POLITE SOCIETY0 -
I personally haven't owned one. A close friend had one and hated it. I buy Kimber or Springfield myself. 0 -
Yep bought one four yrs ago ,i think its a great gun, its very accurate to my surpise, since it doesn/t use a front bushing, the s.s. is neet, less worry of scratches .cleaning. being a 80 type series its a little tricker to take don then the 70's, but you'll get used to it.... funny when i bought it ,got it home, just couldn't wait to shoot it , so i didn't bother to clean it first.....1st shot out of the full mag., it stove-piped ,i thought "oh-no" a dog ,,, finish out the mag.clean without a problem, it has never done it again, if i didn't have so many dam .45's i would buy another one great gun ! Mr Gee Ps/ Ed a regular GI mag. works ,they all work 0 -
I love mine! It has never jammed and is very accurate. I shoot it better than some of my full-sized 1911's. Colt did this one right!
Without the NRA, the second ammendment would already be gone!0 -
Very good gun, I have two of them. One is a standard, Takes the same Mag, as the Officer... Other is the Plus, different mag. Mags are EZ to get.. and the gun will SHOOT, and SHOOT, And SHOOT! [^]
It will hurt you, More than it will hurt me..

Thanks for all the help!0 -
It is THE BEST small auto .45 out there bar NONE. Springfield and Kimber cannot keep up with it. I have owned one for a couple of years now and if it jams today it will be the first time. If you buy one and you don't like it I will buy it from you.[;)] 0 -
Boy I'd give a kidney for one of them (I'm A+ by the way). Even though I hear alot of people say they are overpriced for what you could get from springfield or kimber, I think they are well worth the money. 0 -
thank to all. I bought 1 and i love it. 0 -
Colts have consitently held their value if not gone up. Can't say that for other brands. 45acp Defender uses colt officer mags & 45acp Defender plus(no longer in production) uses 1911 mags.
I just bought a stainless defender to add to my colt stable.
Has anyone else seen the blacked out Dehorned Defender with no sights unveiled at the shot show? Strictly business gun.
Love them Colts.0
