The Fn FAL is a nice weapon, both in inch pattern and metric. There are differences. Look at this link to see them

The L1A1 and FAL type rifles has to be my favorite type of assault rifle in existance. First it was the M16/AR15 till I learned how small the bullet was it shot. Then it was the M1A/M14, till I heard of the FAL. The FAL has one really nice advantage that I like over all others in its class. Adjustable gas regulation. There's a little nob behind the front sight that allows adjust the amount of gas that hits the gas piston.
The FAL has many advantages over other rifles. Rather than a gas tube that can fill with gunk, it has a gas piston. It fires a decent cartridge. It has an excellent sight picture.
Anyway, I could go on and on about it, but I won't. The fact of the matter is, the FAL is in my opinion, the best buy for the money.0 -
I believe somewhere around 90% of the world's FAL's are metric. They seldom break, but it's nice to be able to get spare parts easily. The Frankensteins that are part inch and part metric may not be the best weapon to have. 0
