    Springfield receivers below 800,000 are made of "Class C Steel" not considered safe for modern HV loads.

    Rock Island below 285.506 same

    Would I shoot it? NO, Just a wallhanger

    22WRF-- In the 40+ years I've been fooling with guns, I didn't know there were "blocks" of 1903 Springfields considered unsafe to shoot. Of course, I never studied 1903's in depth, but I would have thought I would have picked up that tidbit of info somewhere along the trail. Just goes to show you, there are always things to learn when it comes to firearms. Thanks for the enlightenment.
