WINCHESTER 1894 25-20
What is an approximate value for a Winchester 1894 rifle chambered for 25-20? It is in 80-85% condition and was produced between 1899 and 1906.

Winchester didn't make the 1894 in 25-20 as far as I know. They did chamber the 1892 in 25-20 however. They made several different variations of it and we need more info to give a value. Barrel length? round or octagon? The more info you can provide the easier it is to find out. Hope this helps. GHD 0 -
You're right. I meant the 1892. The barrel length is about 18 or so inches and is octagonal. 0 -
Taurus 357, Still a little bit stumped! The original 1892's had 24" round or octagonal barrels. The 1892 Carbine had a 20 inch round barrel and the trappers carbines had 14, 15, 16 inch barrels. Still need the serial number to get close as the the 18 inch octagonal barrel isn't listed at all. GHD 0 -
Taurus-357--do you have a rifle or a carbine? The carbine has barrel bands and the rifle does not. The Blue Book of Gun Values is not a very good book to obtain data regarding the manufacture of Winchester firearms. The 1892 rifles came with octagonal or round barrels with any length from 12 inches to 36 inches; until 1908 when the longer barrels were dropped. The standard length was 24 inches. Carbine barrels measured 19 7/8 inches until serial numbers reached 250,000 then a 20 inch barrel became standard. Octagonal barrels were special order on the carbines and the length was the same as for round barrels. Much more information would be needed to give you an accurate idea of value. 0
