  Based on what information you've provided I am going to guess and say that it is a J P Sauer Model 1913. This was the first handgun produced by the firm, which is the oldest firearms manufacturer in Germany. When it was introduced in 1913 the pistol sold for $10 and stayed in production until 1930. Your pistol has German markings so it is a standard European model, rather than the export version and probably a second pattern pistol. There are a number of premium nitches for these guns and I'd need a lot more information- like a serial number, any additional markings, whether or not the pistol has one or two safetys, and the arrangement of the rear sight: is there a rear sight or just a groove milled through the cocking knob? A run of the mill second pattern Model 1913 in excellent condition would retail in the $400-500 range. The value drops like a stone as condition falls off. What kind of shape is the pistol in?
