Sig 245 vs HK USP 45 Compact
Eventhough I have a large 1911 collection with some Kimbers thrown in, I don't have a Sig or HK in my favorite caliber, 45acp. I have a few Sigs in 380, 9mm and 40 but not a 220 or 245. Shopping high end, I shouldn't overlook the HK and frankly don't have a single HK anything in my collection. This gun would be a carry gun replacing my Sig 239 (in 357 Sig) which has been extremely reliable and accurate. Thoughts and advice are greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ed

I am reading you want to replace your 357 sig with a .45acp. And you want it to be a Sig or H&K. Is that the question? The Sig 245 is closer to the size you are looking for the P220 is a bit larger. I do not belive you can go wrong with any Sig. I have never been a big H&K fan. I like the 357 sig round. I have both the .45acp and the 357 sig for carry and can not let ither go. Which ever one feels best is the one you should go with. My 2 cents[:)] 0 -
I think you'd probably like a SIG better. The turnoff for me with HK is the feel, just doesn't fit.

Yep, I own a sig 220, wouldnt get is rid of it for nothing.
It has exceptional accuracy, flawless functionability, and excellent target aquistion. In other words when you shoot is points real well right back to the target for multiple shots. The H&K USP is supposed to be good, as well, I dont own one, GUN TESTS...says the H&K USP has
ACCEPTABLE accuracy. I dont know what they mean by acceptable.0 -
Thanks guys. I had a reliability scare with a 1911 that originall led me to the Sig 239 in 40. I then changed it to 357 Sig and it is a teriffic gun. I really like 45acp as a caliber and my Dillon is set up for it. I shoot a ton of 45 and use it in State qualifiers (am a bodyguard) and just prefer that caliber. The 220 is a big gun but I hear nothing but praise for it and it is possible to conceal. KY Imports has used 220's I am assuming are police turn-ins for $399.99 with one 7 round mag. I don't think I will go for the night sights on the 220; I have them on the 239 but aside from spotting my piece on the nightstand they don't seem to be of gereat utility. Keep that advice coming! I have a few H&Ks and one Sig I love both companys I think your best bet is to see wich one fits your hand better, to me this is one of the greatest factors in choosing a carry gun. These are both great guns with what seem to be comparable features. Although one is polymer and one is not, but that could be another factor. Choose whichever feels right to you. 0
