Professional Ordenance Carbon 15 rifle

Does any one have any pros and or cons about this rifle? I know it is not built on the AR 15 frame but it looks like a keeper. Let me know if you own one and or shot one and what you think of it. PS all of you who gave me input on the Norinco Model 97, thank you. I saved my self some money and some pain.

  There are a lot of people who have had problems with them and put them down, I don't have the rifle but have one of the pistols and I'm VERY happy with the pistol. I also have a friend who, after shooting my pistol, bought one USED at a gunshow several months ago. First thing off, he had some problems with the bolt, but at that time (read on) the customer service was pretty good and he got it fixed, no problems since. The company itself is in bankruptcy right now, whatever the chapter is for re-organizing, it's hard to say if they will continue business at this time.
  
  Myself, I think the early ones had some bugs, like any inovative new concept, but the later ones are just fine, from what I've heard.
  
  Both the rifle and the pistol are incredibly light. I'm sure there's a big enough following that even if they did fold up completely, someone would be around to work on them, but probably not for free. Some people are saying it's best to stay away from them while they're in bankruptcy, myself, I think it's time to buy. I wouldn't mind two or three of them myself, at the right price. But remember I said "at the right price".
  
  Go to a gunshow, or gunshop that has one (or some) and pretend to be mildly interested. While looking at it, make mention of the fact that you know the company is in bankruptcy and might not survive. Tell the seller you've heard they can be okay rifle, and are a pleasure to carry, but some have heard some bad things about them. Beat the seller down as far as possible, then buy it.

  Oh, I forgot to mention, it seems like much of the problems people have is in not using Thermold magazines with them. If you buy one, figure on going with Thermold mags.

  I'd skip it if I were you. We've had a bunch of the pistol type in the shop for repair that had to go back to the factory. It seems they got this gun out on the market before all the bugs were worked out. Not my idea of quality.

  I have one of the Carbon 15 pistols. The bolt broke at the hole where the cam pin goes thru, and the factory sent me a new one, no charge.
  Then I had some extraction problems and called the factory. They said send them the upper which I did. They "re-chambered" it and now it works fine.
  Mine may have been one of the early guns. As mentioned above, they do work better with thermold mags.

  Regret buying mine. Spent more time broken than not, ended up selling it for a fraction what i paid for it

  It sounds like most of the issues have been with the pistal version and the early mosel at that. I am looking at the rifle. The 97s model with the full rail on top. Thank you all for the input.
