legal ?

olympic arms - OA-93 LEO only marked pistol. how old are these and can a civilian have one? I had a high standard LEO bullpup 12 ga. stotgun with no problems but what about the OA? email me at gichaeljor@charter.net.

  The LEO on the old High Standard was a totally different situation. This was a High Standard internal policy which was designed to prevent the sale of their Model 10 shotguns to other than law enforcement. You'll see the same thing on Remington top-folding stocks for 870 shotguns. This all means nothing as civilains can own either of these items without restriction.
  
  An LEO restricted assault weapon is a diiferent matter. After the 1994 Crime Bill went into effect any firearm which would be of a banned configuration had to be stamped to indicate it was restricted. Here is an example from one of the several restricted post ban AR-15 rifles I own: RESTRICTED MILITARY/GOVERNMENT/LAW ENFORCEMENT/EXPORT USE ONLY. This is printed in capital letters on the right side of the magazine well...YOU CAN"T MISS IT! This means EXACTLY what it says- unless you are a police officer, other qualified user, or a licensed dealer you had better not be caught with one of thse puppies! When I purchase one of these there are a bunch of forms to be filled out that go to the wholesaler and then on back to Colt. Don't even consider buying a restricted assault weapon if you are not qualified-it is a felony. By the way, I don't do private e-mailing on these subjects because I'll just get 10 more e-mails from guys wanting to know what information I provided to you to satisfy their own curiosity.
