I have a couple of 22 rifles. The first one is a marlin model 81 bolt action 22 with peep sight . The second gun is a Sport King special model A1041, It also has high standard printed on the barrel. I would like to know what these guns are worth. Thank you.

I own the exact same Marlin, the peep sight model was designated DL. This is the only gun I have that was my Dad's so it is priceless to me...to anyone else it is worth about 75 bucks and a portion of that is the value of the Williams peep sight. These are very common rimfire rifles and there were several variations in feed (clip feed or tube) and the types of sights. The High Standard is more valuable and in excellent shape I've seen these retail in the $150 range. Most of these rifles have seen lots of hard use and finding nice examples is pretty tough. My Dad's old Marlin has been working fine for 40 years and I expect it will out last me. Who'll get it when I'm gone is anyones guess.

Hey Mark, leave the Marlin to family whether it be your son, son-in-law, nephew, girlfriends boy, neighborhood kid who idolizes you and loves sitting around listening to your gun stories, hunting partner, whoever. Just make sure someone that loves the gun as much as you gets it, and not just anyone. Anyway just my .02.
BTW, I enjoy reading your posts, well thought out and intelligent. Keep on keeping on.0
