BATF Question....

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knows.....Is there a Federal law that limits the amount of sporting firearms an individual can own? I was unsure if this question goes here or on the Discussion Forum so let me know and I will repost there and thanks for any replies here.

  while there are many more knowledgable than i, i do not think FEDERAL law limits the amount of firearms a single person may own.if you live in Kalifornistan, all bets are off. ask the same question on the general discusiion, tons of knowledgable folks there, and many ffl holders

  I don't think there's any law, but it sure sounds ominous when they say the suspect was hording guns and ammo....

  Best of my knowledge...NO! Here in Maryland we have this 1 gun a month law. SOOOOOOOOOO, being the good little law abiding individual that I am, every month I go out and buy myself another gun!
  No limits on owning, as long as they are registered:even non-licensee to non-licensee.

  Kalifornistan??? That is one I have yet to hear. There is no federal limit on the number of firearms- and this includes semiautomatic assault weapons or National Firearms Act Weapons- that an individual may own. There is no limit in Kalifornistan (California) and other than some one gun a month states, I am unaware that there is any total fiream collection limit any where in the USA.
  
  Interestingly, back in 1994 when the Clintonista's were running wild with Brady and the Crime Bill, there was a plan, in what was know as Brady II, to begin a program called the Federal Arsenal Permit. If you felt the need to own more than 20 firearms (shame on you) you were expected to get one of these permits from the BATF- at a cost never determined- but planned at about $50 for five years duration. This whole notion disappeared after the November 1994 elections tossed the majority of these lunitics out of Washington and replaced them with more gun friendly types (all of whom were Republicans). How this permit would have worked is beyond me, but I figure you'd just have a bunch of people who figured 19 guns (one short of the 20 needing a permit) would be a collection large enough to suit them.

  Listen and learn from Mr. Mark Christian.
  I have not been licensed as long as Mark has been. Believe he has held
  an (01) plus license for more than my 15 years in ( California). Hate the basterized spelling. Our state obviously has many problems but if we go under, your state will follow. I am unaware of a legal quantity

  I have not read in the atf forms or heard of a limit on how many you can own, but if you do constant multiple purchases every month you will raise some red flags
