Best Quality AR-15 Type Rifle

I'm thinking of buying an AR-15 type rifle. Since there are a lot of companies making these, I was wanting to get opinions as to who makes the highest quality AR-15. I was looking at the Bushmaster CMP model, and it seems like a good deal. Opinions??????

  This question comes up all the time here. My 2 cents is ABC. Armalite, Bushmaster and then Colt.[:)]

  Bushmaster probably offers the best "value" for the $$$.[:)]

  Time for the weekly best AR type question again? Same as I've said every other time: Colt, Bushmaster, and Armalite- with the same disclaimer: I'm a Colt LE dealer so I am biased...when it comes to my own money I opt for the Bushmaster.

  I've seen some Armalite ar's with a price about the same as bushmaster or Oly. Is this an economy model?

  I have or currently own Colt, Bushmaster and Armalite. I do not believe you can go wrong with any of the three.
  
  I believe the Colt AR-15 is a better investment firearm over the others. My opinion is that the the Armalite has a better overall fit and finish than the other two. I can not say anything bad about my esperience with my Bushmaster it was also an excellent firearm.

  Same question, same answer: depends why you want an AR-type. If you're gonna shoot CMP, go w/ an Armalite (preferred by military shooters) or BM (chosen by CMP for subsidy, along w/ Compass Lake).
  
  If you're buying for careful shooting and potential investment purposes, buy Colt and keep the box, manual, all accessories, etc. in pristine shape. Hands down leader in resale value.
  
  If you're buying as a purist and need as close to mil-spec as possible, go with BM. Closest thing to mil-spec on the civilian market. (If you go pre-ban, you can even get a govt-profile 20" A2 barrel, making your rifle everything an M16A2 is, except full-auto.)
  
  If you're looking for a reliable, all-around AR-type for shootin' and havin' fun, flip a coin twice and buy the one that wins the final toss. All three are top-shelf rifles with proven track records and I'd take any one of the three in a second.
  
  BTW: Rock River Arms is coming up in the world as a strong "second tier" supplier and builder of AR-type rifles, but they don't offer chrome-lined barrels. For many military-style shooters, chrome lining is a must.

  Try www.AR15.com with this question.
  My AR is an Olympic PCR99 bought new four years ago.
  It has a 16"ss barrel that is very accurate. I have three additional uppers I made up using flat top receivers and different barrels. One in 6mmx45 also shoots very well. There is perfect interchangeability between the Olympic lower and all of the other brand, upper receivers.
  To get the best from any brand AR you're gonna need an adjustable target trigger and one of the various free floating handguards. If you can buy your gun with these already installed you might be ahead of the game. Otherwise, any quality difference between Olympic, Bushmaster and Colt is invisible to me.
  I would buy either a chrome lined or stainless barrel.
