best out of box accuracy

I know i'll get diverse opinions, but here goes:

What specific models of rifles give the best out of the box accuracy:
A few manufacturers out there are making claims and I want to you know what you guys, the shooters, think.

1. under 300 new
2. 300 to 500 new
3. 500 to 700 new
4. more than 700 new

  I know its not the best looking but a savage 10fp,add a trigger and you can shoot with any 700 out there for alot less

  Yes sir, a Savage Model 10 tactical, with with the 24 inch BULL barrel will hang in with the best, sniper guns, for lots less....

  I have just receive the last of 3 savage 110 30-06 package gun, I won on auction (GB) all shot very very wall, all where at 300.00 an under

  I should have been more specific. I meant with a hunter barrel. What I'm really looking for is a lightweight .243 that will shoot 1" groups at 100 yds. My old .270 Win. is a great stand shooter, but it weighs a bit and target acquisition is pretty slow. I'm trying to figure out how long I'll have to save up for my "mountain rifle".

  I have had excellant luck with my Savages.Only problem is they need a little trigger work.Have read some good reviews on both the Howa and the Tikka for out of the box shooting.

  Under $300- definitely New England Firearms
  Under $500- Remington 700

  I think you'll find most 243's shoot very well.I have an Encore that shoots under an inch.Bob.

  My cousin bought a Rem 7mm RUM in a model 700 BDL that shot factory ammo under a .5 MOA (at 3400 fps). That was off a shakey table for a rest. I talked to Lost River Ballistics and they said this model gun has excellent accuracy potential. So that is what I decided on it over the Sako Firebird. I had a Sako Warbird and that was extremely accurate also but I was given an offer I could not refuse for it. All come with 26" barrels. And all were under 700 dollars (Sako went back up in price).

  I have seen that the savages shoot extremely well. That being said, they do shoot with the remington 700's. My personal choice however, is the 700 remington. The remington line offers some features that I feel sets them apart from the savages, one of which is the HS Precision stock.
  
  I have yet to see a 700 remington not shoot less than MOA at 100yds, with factory ammo. It might be picky, but once you find the ammo it likes, I would doubt it will shoot over .75moa. That's just my experience.

  I'd agree with the above posts, Savage 10FP and 112 and the Remington 700 series. I have heard the Remington 710 is turning in good performance at a low price too. I've made some hellacious 500+ yd shots with Sakos too, if money isn't a factor.
