clearing a jam

at the range my bushmaster ar 15 jamed 3 different people worked on it and could not clear it. along came a young man and stuck his finger in and cleared it in less then 2 seconds. I forget to ask him what he did does any body have any idea? thanks to all

  Dunno, you might have had a feedway jam and he may have pushed the cartridge tip down to get it to feed. What type of "jam" are you getting? If you are getting a feeding jam check your mags. Colt milspec mags tend to work best, if you bought one of those blue steel specials, it is probably not guiding the shells properly or letting them jump out of the feed lips.
