.22 S&W revolver VALUE??????????
I have a S&W .22 cal. unusual Outdoorsman revolver, I mean rare! It is one of only 25 ever made.
How does one go about trying to determine the actual value? I'm at a loss and really looking for help.
Thanks!

Thanks, but try 1 of 25 made for the US Coast Guard, 1935 with fixed sights.
Contacted S&W talked with a Mr. Roy Jinks and a history has been ordered after confirmation of the fact that they are so few.

Go over to the S&W forum there are some posts on the Coast Guard Issue
(you failed to mention) that will give you more info. You can read about Production overruns on this K22.

Thanks again but there is still no infromation there on determining the value of the pistol. I just need to insure the S&W against theft, fire or whatever. 0 -
That gun will be a hard one to determine a value on.The book says it "could" bring up to 10 times the price of the common model. That usually means there have been no recent sales of a like specimen, makes the current market value hard to pin down.It may take a long time to find the right buyer who would actually pay a premium that high, books are only a rough guide. It's a rare bird and definitely worth a premium, question remains as to how much. The 10X number seems awfully high to me,I would have guessed a 3X to 4X premium, but the book says more.If you just want an insurance value,go by the book and add 10 times the price of the regular model in like condition.I'd also ask Roy Jinks his opinion on the current value. 0 -
If you talked to Roy Jinks you need look no further he is the last word on any S&W pistol. He may or may not give an opinon as to value, sometimes he will some he will not. Good Luck, That is a nice find.

Thanks all, Mr. Jinks said he was not permitted to comment on current values of S&W historical pieces.
Guess I will insure it and hope nothing happens to it. Thanks again.
