Did a little research on the Cetme a couple months ago. The spanish cetme was actually developed by german firearms designers just after WWII for Spain. Much after WWII HK had Cetme technicians come to germany to develope the HK rifle as we know it.
So actually the HK is a clone of the Cetme.

That is correct however the US made Cetme (clone) was devloped after the US made G3 (HK-91) clones ... so in essense the US made Cetmes are at best a forth generation clone;
1. Original Cetme
2. Original HK-91
None of the US made HK or Cetme's are licensed copies!
3. HK-91 Clone - Most built on US made receivers (some built on Portguese HK licensed receivers) with original or licensed parts and a few US made parts to be 922R compliant.
4. Cetme Clone - All built on US made receivers with original or licensed parts and a few US made parts to be 922R compliant.
The trigger pack/grip frame will interchange as a complete assembly, the bolt carriers will interchange as long as you also use the correct cocking piece and charge handle, the rear sight is completely different but will interchange as a unit, front sights are the same as well ... stocks & hand guards will interchange straight across but will sometimes require slight modifications as will the pistol grip.
Most of the time the HK claw mount will fit the Cetme Clone however since these are not licensed copys there have been variations from manufacturer to manufacturer in dimentions.

I'm pretty sure the only company that is selling the Cetme as complete weapons is Century, I haven't been in the market for one for a while so I haven't been watching the ad's like I was a year or so ago.
As to the HK clone there are a few, Special Weapons, Vector Arms and Rapid Fire as well as Century and Hess, I believe Hess sold their tooling and is out of it right now ... they (Hess) was the worst of all the manufacturers. Special Weapons is/was the top shelf for the un-licensed clones. There are also several companys that specialize in building the weapons from parts kits and licensed or un-licensed receivers, a couple of which are Mark at Arizona Response System and Jason at Investment Grade Firearms.
Some of the things to look for (if you can) is to try a couple of mags to make sure they lock in properly, the sights to make sure they aren't canted right or left and check the headspace; (the gap between the bolt head and bolt carrier) which you can see through the mag well ... it should be 0.1 - 0.5mm ... if you find one that passes these quick inspections you should have a pretty decent weapon.

If you buy the FEDERAL ORDNANCE, brand it already has the scope base moulded into the receiver. This is a fine weapon and will go 1/2 inch groups at 100. If you buy a CENTURY ARMS, you can mount the real MCCOY, H&K scope mount. All you have to do is file 1/8 of an inch off of the top of the underside of the scope mount. You will notice it will not fit without this modification. The Century Arms, will group 1 inch at 100 no problem. These are both excellent weapons. They can be taken down for cleaning, and are truely basic weapons. Getting the hammer to lay down for reassembly, is sometime cumbersome, be sure that you do not accidently, release the hammew while cleaning.. 0
