Isn't the CUP pressure of the 45LC higher than the LUP of the .410?

    Just a thought.

I agree with rsnyder... I don't think the chamber walls aren't thick enough on most .410's to handle the pressure from the .45LC (that is usually shot through them).

It doesn't matter what you shoot, just shoot it well...

I have a friend that did what your thinking.I even drilled, tapped and mounted a scope for him.I promise you'll be un happy with the results. He eventually bought a bunch of 410 slug ammo and gave up the other idea.My 2 cents,Roger

I thought it was understood that you COULD shoot 45LC's out of a .410? Yes or No?

With no rifling bullets will tumble immediately. You could try round balls but there again round balls need rifling for accuracy.
See if a .450 or a .454 round ball will pass through the barrel with little resistance. If they're too tight find a size that will.
Since the barrel's already cut for this purpose, Fill a 45L case with 35 grains of 2 or 3Fg black powder or an equivalent load of Pyrodex, crimp over the ball and let er rip.

quote:I have an older 410 shot gun and I sawed off the barrel so it is a legal 18" long

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong here, but....
I'm sure you mean that it was cut in excess of 18 1/2" in length. Under 18" would be a "bad thing".
