Dumb AR-15 Question.....

Im dumb, i know. I have an Olympic Arms m4 style AR-15 with a fixed telescoping style stock. Recently the stock has come loose some how, not to the point where its unshootable, but it can twist a little bit back and forth where it meets the receiver. I dont enough about the stocks on these guns, can anyone help me out here? Thanks in advance, if my description of the problem is too vague please let me know.

  The telescoping (fixed or not) stock is screwed into the receiver, the "retaining plate" put into place and then a treaded lock nut is tightend down to hold everything in place. You should be able to clearly see this large round nut where the stock enters the receiver. On most post ban models this nut is tightend and then tack welded to the plate to lock the stock into the receiver- my Colt LE AR-15's with actual telescoping stocks have this nut welded. Is the nut itself loose? If it is not welded you can simply tighten it down with a special wrench (spanner)that sells for $5 at most gun shows. If the nut itself is welded tightly to the plate and the stock moves you have trouble and short of breaking the welds, screwing the stock in tighter (a fraction of a turn sounds like it would do it), and then retightening the lock nut yourself, you may have to enlist the help of a gunsmith or Olympic Arms.

  I saw the nut when i first noticed the problem and it appeared to have been welded before but had come loose. Even when i tighten the nut, however, the stock still can move a little bit, but thats tightening without a wrench like you describe. Ill try to find one of them. That should fix it right? Thanks again!
