Carry pistol....

Anybody have any reccomendations for a CONCEALED carry pistol? I've been looking at the Glock 33 (357 sig.) and a Para 45. It needs to be a small frame pistol, easy to conceal. I'd like it to be auto., not revolver. Please post any thoughts you have. Thanks!!

  I like my glock 23 (.40 s&w) and I also like .45 acp in the commander size 1911. I think even a full size 1911 is concealable. Just my $0.02, but I trust calibers that start with 4.

  I like the Glock 36. I find it to very accurate and the recoil was lighter than I expected.

  Always wanted a Glock 26 or 27 until I compared them to my Kel-Tec.The Kel-Tec P-11 weighs loaded what the Glock weighs empty plus it's thinner and a lot less money with a great guaranty.

  I've carried a PPk for 10 years in an ankle holster and it has always given me good service. Some cop buddies opt for the Taurus Millenium in .40. Same basic size but no hammer (I gots to have de hamma!). Carrying a weapon concealed becomes second nature and the weight becomes unnoticed which is what you want. I don't plan to fight a running gun battle with a mob, just a quick double tap to a head at 3 feet. Good luck.

  Before you settle for something small, try shooting it. Rent the gun for an hour and put a lot of lead down range. I recommend a 1911 Commander size 45. It's not very small, but it doesn't compromise 1911 integrity or give you an anemic caliber.
  
  If you really want a small gun, use a J frame S&W snubby with 158 +Ps.
  I'm growing increasingly mistrustful of very small autos.

  What you carry depends on many things, weight, how you plan to carry, and what you plan on wearing while carrying. You may need more than one. My three personal are a S&W 649, Walther PPK, and Browning Hi Power.
  
  I still have and used to carry a Glock, but I had a personal incident where a primer failed to ignite and I only had use of one arm courtesy of a hammer. I was unable to cycle the slide and had I been carrying the Glock I would have been in a fix. I was able to thumbcock the hammer of the semiauto I did have and fortunately the second hammer hit ignited the primer. You can thumbcock a semiauto with an external hammer if necessary. With the revolver, you can pull the trigger again.
  
  If you are going to carry concealed, you want to reduce all the possible sources of malfunction, or have a contigency in the event of one.
  
  Glocks are great guns and 99.99% of the time it will perform admirably, however I want to remove that .01%.

  Colt Defender, Para-Carry but the mini-Glocks are also a good choice. To me the hard part to conceal is the grip not the slide. Most people immediately add a figertip extension to the mini-Glocks so they can hold on to it easier. Now compare the grip length to a mid-size Glock. Not much difference in the 'footprint'.

  I CARRY A GLOCK 19 9MM AND LOVE IT.
  YOU WILL JUST HAVE TO GET OUT AND LOOK AT AS MANY DIFFERENT GUNS AS YOU CAN AND DECIDE FOR YOURSELF WHAT WILL WORK BEST FOR YOU.
