Bushmaster newbie

I'm a old vet that carried a M16A1 some years ago. I went to a gun show this weekend and made the mistake of picking up a Bushmaster XM15. It was like falling in love all over again. $680.00 later I had it at home plinking tin cans and paper targets.
My question is this. I've noticed that the Bushmaster is a ringer for the M-16 except for the heavy barrel and not having selective fire.(can't have it all I guess.) So what parts will interchange with it? I've noticed bolts and receivers and other accessories for sale for M-16 A1/A2, and Colt AR-15. Will these parts interchange with my Bushmaster?
After reading and seeing the knowledge level of the people at this sight I knew I had come to the right place. Thanks in advance.

  The Bushmaster is a milspec AR15 and most parts are interchangable, however, as per ATF regulations, don't put any "M-16" parts in it. Even an M16 bolt carrier can put you in a lot of legal trouble. You can put Colt AR-15 parts in it, just no M-16 part (except mags, of course) [:D]

  Colt part will work internally, but the pin size is different, where the upper and lower are held together. Dont mix colt uppers or lowers with the Bushmaster.

  Not necessarily. You are talking about the small-pin uppers. A large-pin upper by Colt should fit the Bushmaster.
