N.R. Davis and Sons 410 Double
I am looking for info on a 410 SxS. History of company, year of manufacture, etc.
The stamping on the left side of the receiver is:
N.R Davis & Sons
A.Jax
Davis Warner Arms Corp
Norwich, Conn U.S.
The bluing on the receiver is not good-mostly gone!
The wood and finish is pretty good condition and has some basic checkering on the pistol grip and forearm.
The barrels I believe are referred to as the "monoblock" type, and barrels have a wide rib that extends into the receiver for a cross bolt type of lock.
I have seen old 410 SxS doubles at Cabellas in KC, but they are the heavy styles built off of 20 guage frames. Although condition about the same or worse, they are "asking" sky-high prices-up to $900. I bought this 410 at a gun auction for $420, as it was built on the small frame and had interesting features.
As you may have read, I am trying to get info on this gun. I have never previously sold or traded away a gun which I had purchased. However, I figured if I later wanted, I could always trade this one, as old double 410's appear to be in demand and subsequently overpriced.
As far as an outright selling price, I quite frankly don't know what this is worth to someone else. [8]

DAVIS, N.R. & CO. Freetown Mass. 1853 - 1917. Merged with Warner Co. of Norwich, Conn and became Davis-Warner Arms Company. It was not active between 1920 and 1922, but in 1930 started again as Cresent-Davis Arms Co., Norwich. This included Cresent Firearms Company. They relocated in Springfield, Mass. 1931-32 and were taken over in 1932 bt Stevens Arms........As for Value...You seem to have that covered.....Best.....
