What are the current fees associated with getting an FFL-01? Just toying with the idea. Thanks

I was just wondering how many guns can you legally buy and sell a year without having an FFL. 0 -
You must have a physical address, thus you MUST comply with all local (City and County) and state laws and regulations. If WHERE you locate your 'business' is in compliance with these you could have an FFL and do as you stated. You would still have to allow BATF in at any time to inspect and have some 'times' you would be open 'for business' to the public.
You should contact BATF and get a compleat copy of the regs, that would explain it in detail.

Dirtyrat (it hardly sounds polite to call you that), in order to get an Federal Firearms License you must have an actual licensed premises-be that a store, your house, a shed out in your backyard, something with a physical address where you can conduct business and that is open and accessable to the public during some set period of time. You must have operating hours which you must set when you apply for the license- even if it is only one hour per day, you need to be open for business at some time during the day or night so as to allow for an ATF inspection.
You cannot get an FFL strictly to conduct business at gunshows- although you are allowed to make sales to non licesnees at gunshows in your home state. You can do all of the business on the web that you wish- as long as you ship to someone with a license and you can sell to other licensees in any state, not just your own. It is far tougher to get an FFL than it was when I got into the business 20+ years ago, but if you can show you'll be able to actually do some real business and there are no local regualtions working against you, you should be able to get an FFL...making money with it is another matter and beyond the scope of this post!

In good-ole Dallas, Texas you can't obtain an FFL if you don't have a storefront. Want to deal out of your house?... City officials say no-thanks.[|)] 0
