Marlin Model 97 information
Hello,
I just had a Marlin Model 97 .22 cal Lever Action fall into my hands, it's in outstanding condition.
It has great case hardening colors on the receiver, and the bluing and wood just show nice patina.
The ser# is 38841X
Does anyone have any information on this new member of my family?
Age, possible ball park value.
I know it's what later became the Model 39, but any information would be great.

My references show that the Model 97 is the takedown version of the Model 92. It was produced until 1915. W W I caused a halt to production. It was reintroduced as the Model 39 when production resumed in 1922. Also it shouldn't be used with high speed ammo. 0
