Proof Marks?

Does anybody have the URL for a good on-line source (or sources) on proofmarks? British, Belgian, German and Spanish especially.

I've tried Google, but no joy.

    i know of nothing on the web, but if you can get a copy of the nra firearms and ammo fact book , there is a great section on proofs of all countries

    There's also a pretty good book: The Standard Directory Of Proof Marks, by Gerhard Wirnsberger translated by R.A. Steindler. It's a softback, and was published by Jolex, Inc., distributed by The John Olson Co., 294 Oakland Ave., Oakland, New Jersey 07436. My copy is second printing, 1978; and I believe that I have seen them for sale fairly recently by booksellers at gunshows. They're probably in the $15 range now; mine cost $5.75 in 1980. This book covers exactly what you're looking for--European proof marks.

    Thanks Captain, but I'm not looking for any particular proofmark. I was hoping there was a website that had a bunch of 'em to use as a resource.

    DG...Thanks. I'm familiar with that book....Ray Riling Arms Books has it for 15 bucks. I was hoping to find a website where I could get this info free.....I've bought so many gun books lately that if I buy another one, I'll be reading it in the doghouse. Oh well, guess I'll have to spring for it.....move over Lucky, daddy wants to read. [:)]
