Frank House Flintlock

In the mid 1990's, my Grandfather won a blackpowder set of equipment, including a flintlock made by Frank House (who also made Mel Gibson's flintlock for "The Patriot"). About 9 months ago, he gave me all this stuff, then a couple months later, he passed away (94 years old).

The rifle has been fired once, but it was well cleaned and is in perfect condition (though antiqued in style).

I'd like to know what it is worth.

  Frank House is the brother of the more well known Herschel House. Value would depend upon the features of the gun as every one is custom made thus different. You might try contacting Dixie Gun Works (901)885-0440, while they don't list them in thier catalog, they do sell and broker guns by custom gun makers. Another place that may be able to help you is The Hawken Shop (360)679-4657, they are another outfit that sells alot of origional and custom muzzleloaders. I'd appreciate hearing what they tell you.
