Removing Barrel on Rem 7600 30/06
Hey guys help me out here, I know nothing about these pump rifles, Im cleaning my stepsons 06. Can you remove the barrel for ease of cleaning? I do have the forearm off but I can't seem to get the barrel to release. Whats the trick? Or isn't it possible?
Thanks Pa.

I assume you mean you have removed the wooden forearm only. See four holes in the action tube, about 2 inches ahead of the receiver? Insert a drift of the proper diameter through the holes and tap the drift counter-clockwise to loosen the tube. Remove the tube and then the barrel, action and action bars can be removed forward. The dust cover will also be removed from the receiver. You might find it easier to clean the rifle without complete disassembly. Just remove the trigger mechanism and clean using a toothbrush, solvent and blow out with an air compressor. 0 -
