You can buy an adaptor to enable use of standard shellholders. Then buy a box or two of Lees' shellholders and you're all set.

I haven't seen those adaptors lately. I have some of the original shell holders.

RCBS has an adaptor and Vega Tool @ 800-999-8342 makes adaptors and original Herters style shell holders.

I have no idea what numbers I need, looking for one to fit 300wm, 7.62x39, 30/30 wcf, the only one I have is for all the 30cal.243,270,308,30-06 brass, I need a chart that tell me the break down, anybody have a chart that I could get a copy of e-mail to naeger@mhtc.net. I did get adaptater made at local machine shop but it seats to high for the magnum 300. Thanks Frank

    ATF,
    Thanks for the note.
The numbers I supplied were from the 1969 '79 catalog p481. On the next page is the chart for the new removable head shellholders with the index code that you refer to ($0.99). The SH2B fit most standard rams.
The first chart, SH1A and SH1B specifies Herter tools 3, 81, 234, 9A, U3, "O" Super and 3A Super reloading tools ($1.03). The 9 and 3A shellholder heads 1B have the same index numbers, but are threaded to screw into the ram. The SH A type fits the Lachmiller presses too. (...most of them)

ATF, I think the #2 is for the 30-30. I haven't used mine since I got the rockchucker.

Vince, you're right .I just went down cellar and checked mine.I have two and they are both number 2s .I even checked by putting a 30/30 shell in them. The chart I have is an original Herter from the 50s with a picture of the shell holder on it.when I bought my first Herter press (I have three) one has a double ram.I guess they made typos then too.
    Sorry for the mixup.
