M1 Carbine, Sts or Chrome???
Does anyone make the M1 carbine in stainless or Chrome???

Iver Johnson offered their M1 Carbines in stainless steel in 8 different variations and two different calibers. Universal offered a carbine in nickel and in gold as well as their Enforcer pistol in nickel and in gold. There were probably other commercial manufacturers plating their guns as well but I try to avoid thinking about these after market carbines very much as most are just plain trouble.

Relax, you're ok. You likely saw a Parade purpose carbine. At a VFW or American Legion thing? Lots of VFW or American Legion posts have carbines they had chromed for parades, etc. You likely saw one of these. Shooters they ain't, but at least you know you're not crazy. And the Franklin Mint(or whoever makes those stupid commemoratives you see in the magazines) did some too. They're not shooters either nor are they worth much. 0 -

REAL (military) Carbines were made only in .30 Carbine.
After WWII, bunches of different manufacturers made clones and copies in various other calibers.0 -
The stainless Iver Johnsons are somewhat hard to find. Blue book values won't help, they are way off. The reality is that they will run whatever the market will bear. I would expect it to be over $350 and as much as $500 or more. I have some of the stainless 15 magazines for those available at $15. If you get the gun and need some, let me know. I had a stainless Universal. Kept it on my boat. Real piece of junk. The gas piston blew after less then 100 rounds.
