shooting into gelatin

Does anybody out there have a recipe to make your own gelatin, for shooting into. I think it might be helpful in picking a round to deer hunt with. Thanks ahead of time for any helpful input.

  Here it is. Never heard they ever used it for Deer hunting rounds though. All the data I ever saw was for self-defence type of handgun ammo.

  And it has little to do with reality. It's geletin, not flesh etc. It is also critical on temperature etc. And it has no bones, and it has no variations like your body does of various muscle/flesh mass.

  Just ask around for good projectiles, or practice with different brands of ammo. I used one of the most revered brands "Fail-Safe" ammo and although I never lost a deer in the 5 years I used it, it just didn't expand as I thought it should. Ballistic tip bullets blew up too much for my ranges with my .300 win mag. I finally found Hornady customs to do just about what I wanted - not to little of a hole, not too big.
  I agree with darrell, shooting stuff other than what you are actively hunting isn't a real good indicator...
  
  It doesn't matter what you shoot, just shoot it well...
