Found Some Shells!
I came across some very old shells. They are Winchester-Western Super X .410 3" 3/4oz 4 shot paper shells. I have 1 full, unopened box, and one box with 15 in it. I can't find anything about this particular shell on the web. Thought I'd give this place a go. If anyone has any info at all, I'd appreciate your input. Thanks in advance!

Badger.... Welcome to the forum! That ammo is for a .410 shotgun, #4 shot is usually used for rabbits, and larger birds like pheasant. The shells were made in 2 3/4" and 3".
The .410 is the smallest of the shotgun shells, and Winchester used the name Super-X back in the 50's and 60's.
The .410 is the only shotgun shell measured in caliber, all the rest are in gauge, like 12 and 20 gauge.
Your ammo might be of interest to a collector, especially the full box.0 -

OK, shotshells are not my specialty, but I've been collecting ammo for a long time and following the 'market,' as it were, almost as long. "Winchester-Western Super-X" are not very old. They are post-WW2 and these are likely post-1960. Depending on which box (there are many different styles, color schemes, etc.) and the condition - including contents - this could bring some premium. JFYI, the value in shotshell boxes is largely in pre-War loadings, although unusual later ones from various makers and styles which were made only briefly also can realize some significant value.0
