  For cost of ammo go with the .243. For power go with the 2506. I personally like both and would not like to make a choice between the two but if you push me hard I'll say 2506.

  I have used a Ruger m77 .243 for years to take out woodchucks. Great caliber by my knowledge and experience. 80g. hollow point kills and cleans all at once.

  Being a new owner of a Remington 700 BDL, 25-06, will say I'm very impressed. As stated the ammo is fairly pricey.

  Six of this half dozen of the other with these two. .243 uses a short action the -06 uses a long action. Both are dandy for varmints, up to black bear. The only advantage lies with the .243 in that you're more likely to be able to find ammo for it in Upperrubberboot, Wi. should you get there and find you ammo is still on the kitchen table. The .25-06 isn't as popular so the ammo may not be as easy to find.

  Look,just save your money and buy both .That is what I did and I am not sorry.If you don't care then just flip a quarter and decide.Anyway-

  v35, Yes it is somewhat overkill on the short shots! But I usually have the 17HMR or the 222Mag or the 22-250 to handle the short ones under 400! Devastation Supreme comes out when I want to reach out and touch one!haha GHD
