Winchester Rifle Question

I was at a fellow leo house yesterday and was looking at some of his rifles and shotguns. He has a Winchester 30-30 that is of normal length as the 94 but the receiver is made of brass. He said he'd had it since he was a kid and he is now in his middle 40s as am I but I've never seen one of this type before . It wasn't a commemorative just a plain rifle with the unusual receiver. Tell me about this rifle if you can because it's got my curiosity up.

  To My knowledge Winchester never made a Model 94 with a Brass frame....

  NEED MORE INFO. SERIAL NUMBER, BARREL LENGTH, INSCRIPTION ON BARREL, ETC.????

  If the rifle is indeed a Winchester model 1894 and is not a commemorative, then I would think that the plateing was done outside of the factory.
