any other guns???
I own a .243 .270 & 7mm mag. Hunt varmits, coyotes, antelope, deer, elk and soon to be wild boar in Colorado. Does anyone believe I need another gun and if so what caliber and for what game animal. (trying to convince my wife regarding an additional gun)!!!! Thanks[:D]

You clearly need a 30-06! It will serve as a back-up for ALL the others. Suitable for quote:varmits, coyotes, antelope, deer, elk and soon to be wild boar as well as moose, bear and anything else in North America.

a 22-250 would fit in there nice on the smaller side and a 300win mag on the larger side

You clearly need a 223, or a 7.62x39. Both good varmit and hunting rounds, but also cheap to shoot on a regular basis so you can hone your skills and get the most out of all those other rifles you need.

You just have to get a .45-70. Historic cartridge, great brush buster, ammo everywhere. Lots of choice in types of guns.

Get yourself a .375 H & H Mag. This will take anything that walks the face of the earth. That way if you get attacked by a member of the rabbit family that attacked Jimmy Carter or the Loch Ness Monster you will be very comfortable in your own defense. Further, you can load it up or down depending on what you're goind to be doing. 0 -
You could always take the home defense angle and go with a new shotgun and use the excuse that a round from a hunting rifle will travel much faster than birdshot that will not likely travel through interior home walls and hurt other inhabitants i.e children or family pets or even neighbors. My wife bought it now I have an 870 Express Mag. 0 -
Good recomendations in the smaller cal's but rather than a 22-250 there's a deffinet need for a .223 in a flat top AR like a bushmaster the low cost of ammo and the benifits of more practice in various positions i.e. offhand, sitting, prone will produce greater sucess in the field. 0 -
When I was young and lived at home my mother always had a fit when I would bring home a new gun. So this is what you do, I would go in the room where all the guns were keep and I would take one of the gun cases and fill it with newspaper. Then when I was leaving the house I would tell her I was taking a gun to get it fixed. When I got to the gun shop, out went the newspaper and in went the new gun. Home I would go with my new gun and she never new I bought a new gun. I did not have to convince her I needed one, just had to out smart her. Worked every time.
