reminton 760 6mm
I have a remington 760 in 6mm. I'm trying to find date of manufacture, on the left side of barrel, there are the letters, CQ (before the locking lug) and a 'B' right before the receiver. These letters are separated by 1 inch. The gun is pre warning. Stock is ADL grade I beleive,(not basket weave). The list that I have checked('27-72) says it was made in 1955. Could it have been?

sportingart, The CQ you mentioned is the date code. C stands for the 4th month of the year and Q stands for 1978. The 760 was not available in 6mm cal. in 1955. If had been available it would have been stamped .244 Remington, not 6mm. 6mm is a rare chambering in the 760. 0 -
