Marlin 1895 45/70
I just got a Marlin 1895 45/70, it's an older model with a straight grip, short tube, and 22" round barrel. I think it's from the early 70's. The SN is in the B00####. I was told the B0 prefix means that it was more desireable; I want to know why? I know like on the older 30-30's they had ballard type rifling vs microgroove on the newer ones.
What can I expect out of this rifle and what are the do's & don'ts of this rifle? I want to zero it in at 100yds and maybe use factry 300gr ammo. What would the drop be at 150? or point of impact at 50?

Right now because of weather and time, I only have access to a 25yd indoor range. Approximately how high or low of bullseye do I have to be to get close to bullseye at 100yds with my 45-70? Same question for 30-30? 0 -
