More on old Fox

Thanks to all who contributed in earlier post on my Dad's old A.H. Fox sxs. I have finally confirmed it is a model "A". Serial #17005 no engraving, 28" barrels. mod&full, extractors, double triggers. Thanks to laxcoach and 101airborne all I need now to complete history is date of manufacture. Maybe you gentlemen could find that too? Thanks so much. Joe B.

  Joe, the years of manufacture of the A Grade was from 1906-1942, which was, along with the C Grade, the longest production run of any of the Foxes. Serial # range on the A Grade 12 ga. was 1-50000. My guess is your gun was probably made around 1920, but that is purely a guess. I'll check my Fox book tonight to see if I can narrow it down further.Values range from $650(50%) to $900(80%), but these are book values--- in my area an A Grade would command a premium over book values.

  Numbers 15000 to 18700 were made in 1911.
